Skriniar would be perfect Alderweireld replacement for Tottenham

Tottenham didn’t sign a single player during the summer, but they may be forced into the market at the beginning of 2019. The future of Toby Alderweireld remains unclear and a replacement may need to be sourced.

It will be difficult to find a defender of a similar quality, as the Belgian is regarded as one of the best in the Premier League.

One player that would qualify is Inter Milan centre-back Milan Skriniar. The 23-year-old has been a revelation since joining the Serie A club and Tottenham got a closer look at him during the recent meeting in the Champions League.

Skriniar was excellent on that day and played a key role as Inter Milan came from behind to earn a massive three points. The defender is comfortable on the ball and able to launch attacks from deep with his passing range.

In terms of his defending, he is a good tackler and dominant in the air. Skriniar would be an excellent fit for the Premier League and at the age of 23, he has the potential to develop into an even better player.

Spurs need to be proactive in the market over the next 12 months if they are to compete with the best in the division. A move for Skriniar would make a lot of sense.
