‘Similar to Jorginho’: Some Arsenal fans amazed by their ‘fearless’ prospect in 2-1 Hibernian defeat

Arsenal suffered defeat to Hibernian on Tuesday evening in pre-season – but some of the club’s fans on Twitter were left amazed by a cameo performance from their 17-year-old prospect Jack Henry-Francis.

The Gunners were beaten 2-1 in Edinburgh today against Scottish Premiership team Hibernian.

Martin Boyle and Daniel Mackay were both on the scoresheet for Hibs, who will consider the pre-season result quite the achievement against English opposition.

Meanwhile, Emile Smith Rowe pulled back a consolation for Premier League side Arsenal.

A selection of Arsenal supporters on social media did find a positive in the cameo display from their academy talent Henry-Francis.

The central midfielder was introduced for Mohamed Elneny in the 75th minute to play in the friendly match

He’s not made his official senior debut, but is part of Mikel Arteta’s main group during the start of the pre-season.

The 17-year-old is yet to earn a professional deal at the Emirates Stadium, but was a regular in the Under-18s side last season.

One fan made a comparison between the teenager and Jorginho. The Chelsea deep-lying playmaker won the Champions League with his club last season, as well as the European Championships with Italy this summer.
