Signing Lindelof would bolster Wolves’ defence and take them closer to top six

Wolves are ready to launch a summer bid for Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof,

They that Wolves wanted the Swedish international last summer – but Jose Mourinho wouldn’t budge – and now they’re ready to go back in for him again.

Lindelof has featured heavily under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and has been arguably United’s player of the season, finally becoming the player the Old Trafford club expected when they signed him in 2018.

The his fee at the time was £31m – meaning he is unlikely to come cheap – but he would be an exceptional addition to the Old Gold backline.

Wolves have been outstanding defensively but adding Lindelof’s classy passing and international experience to their back three alongside Conor Coady and Willy Boly would take Nuno Santo’s backline to the next level.

If Wolves make it into Europe, they’re going to need greater squad depth and they also need to cut out complacency against the sides lower down the league.

Lindelof has come along leaps and bounds this season and although Wolves fans may not be impressed by what they’ve seen on his two visits to Molineux, he has been by far United’s best central defender this season.
