Signed for the future, Leif Davis may now be called upon by Leeds United

Leeds United go into their final two games of the Championship season with something of a left-back problem. With Barry Douglas out for the rest of the season, Ezgjan Alioski needed to stay fit. However, the Macedonian international tore his meniscus against Brentford on Easter Monday and will now miss out on the run-in.

Leeds do have left-back options. Gaetano Berardi’s best position is arguably on the left-hand side of defence but not many fans want to see Stuart Dallas back in the role.

There is, of course, another name doing the rounds among the Leeds fans.

Leif Davis has played four times in the Championship this season. One of those appearances was a solid display against their next opponents Aston Villa in 3-2 win back in December.

Signed from Morecambe in the summer, not many expected to see the 19-year-old in the Leeds first-team at all this season.

However, with Douglas and Alioski now out injured it could be Davis is the first reserve to Berardi in the promotion push, which may extend into the play-offs.

Leeds fans will hope he is up to the task if that is the case.
