The Reds will apparently pay an initial £4million, with £2.5million in add-ons.

Now, Romano has claimed that Liverpool and Aberdeen have signed all the relevant paperwork for the deal.

He claims the Reds have a contract ready after Ramsay’s medical is done, which will take him to 2027.

Ramsay enjoyed a superb breakthrough season at Aberdeen last term.

The 18-year-old only made his senior debut in March 2021, in a Scottish Cup trip to Dumbarton.

Since then, however, Ramsay has kicked on massively, and is now the Dons’ first-choice right-back.

He featured 33 times for Aberdeen last term, both domestically and in the Europa Conference League.

The Scotland youth international registered an impressive nine assists for his club, as well as one goal.

Ramsay also played against the likes of Celtic and Rangers at Parkhead and Ibrox.

This means he already knows how to handle the pressure in huge games.

“Done exceptionally well”

Aberdeen icon Phil McGuire has spoken highly of Ramsay, tipping him to shine at Anfield.

“Calvin’s done exceptionally well and you can see why Liverpool want him,” he told the .

“He has been in a good club for his development and to keep him grounded, which is clear to see.

“I liken his situation to big Scott (McKenna of Nottingham Forest).

“He has just won the play-offs and is now looking towards the Premier League.

“These opportunities will come for Calvin. It all comes down to the timing for the player and Aberdeen as well.

“You can see he is destined for big things and he has to make the right decisions.

“There is no doubt Liverpool would be a great opportunity for him.”

Meanwhile, fellow Dons legend Willie Miller told : “The quality I’ve seen and the Liverpool scout has seen leads us all to believe that he has the makings of a top quality club and international player.”
