‘Sign him up’: Some Everton fans love their reported interest in 34-year-old
Everton transfer rumours are linking them with goalkeeper Sergio Romero – and some Toffees fans on Twitter are extremely positive in response.
Romero, 34, will be exiting Premier League club Manchester United this summer with his contract officially due to expire at the end of June.
The Argentine shot-stopper will soon be a free agent and available to sign on a free transfer, so it’s no surprise to hear clubs are interested.
According to , Everton are in discussions with the available goalkeeper over a possible deal.
But, the report adds that there is also interest from Italian’s Juventus and Spaniard’s Celta Vigo in his signature.
For Everton, it looks like they need to bring in more cover for number one Jordan Pickford. Therefore, Romero on a free transfer is a deal that would make sense.

Everton fans want Sergio Romero
A selection of Everton supporters on social media feel Romero would suit them due to his experience.
He played a supportive role during six year at Old Trafford, keeping 39 clean sheets in 61 appearances.
The goalkeeper didn’t played a game of senior football last season, but rarely let Man United down over the years of service with them.
There is still a feeling of anger on Merseyside right now regarding the vacant managerial position, so perhaps a couple of signings in the meantime can lift the mood.
Romero could come in as someone experienced for Pickford to learn from. Above all, he’s someone that could do a decent job when called upon.
