‘Shut up’… Gabriel Agbonlahor is not happy with Mikel Arteta after what Arsenal have just done

Gabriel Agbonlahor has slammed Arsenal and Mikel Arteta for their reported complaint to the PMGOL over the treatment of Bukayo Saka.

that the Gunners have come forward to ask for more protection for the 22-year-old, who is often one of the most fouled players in the Premier League.

Yet , Agbonlahor was not having any of it, with the pundit leaving a scathing attack on Arsenal and Arteta for complaining about Saka’s well-being.

Agbonlahor said: “Shut up, it’s all you hear from Arteta, Arsenal. Look at the clips of Maradona, he used to get two-footed in the chest. No yellow card. Messi, kicked, he just gets up, quick free kick. Messi just gets on with it.

“Honestly just stop moaning. Get on with your game. Yes, Saka might get fouled a lot, that shows because you are a top player and people have got to stop you. You get on with it.

“If you weren’t a good player you wouldn’t be getting fouled so much and sometimes managers will say take it in turns to get a yellow card and stop the top, top players. So Arteta, Arsenal, whoever is moaning get on with it.”

More clubs should be following Mikel Arteta and Arsenal’s lead

In an era of the game where player welfare has never been more important, Arsenal and Arteta making an official stance on how one of their star players is treated should be respected by fellow teams and managers.

Whilst Agbonlahor’s ‘Old Man Screams At Cloud’ act is, unfortunately, a take many fans and pundits will agree with, it’s a dangerous precedent to set given what’s actually at stake.

We’re talking about one of the Premier League’s best players being protected as he is statistically fouled more than 99% of other players in the division.

And if something like that can be deemed outrageous, then Arsenal and Arteta must be doing something right that could lead to real change in the Premier League.
