Arsenal star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s terrible luck caused him to miss Gabon’s AFCON opener this week, but he still seems to be in good spirits.

The 32-year-old tested positive for COVID a few days before the start of the competition. He was banished from the Arsenal side a few weeks before that, making this one of the toughest periods of his career.

It really doesn’t look like Aubameyang has a way back at Arsenal. Mikel Arteta looks like he has had enough, but that hasn’t stopped the Gabon star from representing the Gunners brilliantly in Cameroon.

A recent picture of Aubameyang from his hotel while on international duty has been making the rounds on social media.

Aubameyang’s fashion choice always catches your attention. From flashy cars to flashier clothes, the Gabon star always makes his mark when he’s spotted out and about.

However, Aubameyang seems to have toned it down a little in recent days.

The ex-Arsenal skipper has been seen wearing the famous red and white instead of something like a gold Gucci shirt. Seeing him don Arsenal’s colours even while on international duty has gone down really well among the supporters.

Gunners fans absolutely love how he isn’t shying away from representing the club despite everything that has happened behind the scenes at the Emirates over the last month.

Arsenal fans react

Arsenal fans were quick to have their say on Aubameyang donning the Gunners home shirt at AFCON.

The Gabon star’s disciplinary breach has caused him a lot of problems at the Emirates. He is in Arteta’s bad books now, but some Arsenal fans are hoping that there’s still a chance he can get back on good terms with his boss and become the player he once was.

Here’s how a few of them reacted on Twitter…
