Should Tottenham move for Edinson Cavani following new report?
Edinson Cavani is reportedly set to leave Paris Saint-Germain for free – which is something that should have Tottenham Hotspur on red alert.
, the Uruguay international could leave the Ligue 1 champions for nothing with his contract expiring in the summer.

Atletico Madrid are supposedly hopeful of landing the 32-year-old – hence the report coming from Spanish publication Mundo – but it is thought his wages (£15 million-a-season) could prove a stumbling block.
PSG are not looking to extend their record scorer’s contract.
Spurs boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly keen to get adequate back up for Harry Kane (), and Cavani – who cost £55 million from Napoli in 2013 () – might just be an ideal signing for the north Londoners.
TBR’s view – A move makes sense
Cavani’s time at the Parc des Princes seems to be coming to an end.

The summer arrival of Mauro Icardi has seen him make just 10 appearances so far – only three of which have been league starts.
Cavani – who has a prolific record of 196 goals in 289 appearances for PSG – is arguably at an age now where he’d make for a brilliant backup for a younger striker.
His wages would be high, but there’s potential for savings to be made on a transfer fee given the situation with his contract.
Furthermore, Cavani stated back in 2013 () whilst at Napoli that it’d be a pleasure for him to be managed by Mourinho, so perhaps the Portuguese could test the waters next month or in the summer.
