‘Shocking’… Ally McCoist claims Manchester United really need to sell ‘wonderful’ player now
Ally McCoist has suggested that the time has now come for Marcus Rashford to leave Manchester United, noting that his body language recently has been shocking.
Marcus Rashford missed Sunday’s FA Cup tie with Newport County due to illness. As reported by the , Erik ten Hag had to field questions after the win at Rodney Parade on claims Rashford had been at a nightclub on Thursday before reporting ill for training on Friday.
Ten Hag insisted that he will deal with the situation, but refused to go into too much detail over the forward’s absence.
Ally McCoist now thinks Manchester United need to sell Marcus Rashford
It has been a poor season for Rashford. He has only scored four goals in all competitions. And while reflecting on the England international missing Sunday’s tie, Ally McCoist told (broadcast on 29/1; 6:29) that it would be best for all parties if the 26-year-old did now find a move away.

“I watched him at Wigan, I thought his body language was shocking. It really, really was,” he said.
“He needs a fresh challenge and Manchester United need to move on I think looking at it now.”
“Let’s get this straight, we know he is a wonderful footballer,” Jeff Stelling replied.
McCoist added: “Of course he is!”
Letting forward leave would be another big call from Erik ten Hag
Of course it is difficult to be too critical of Rashford without knowing all of the facts surrounding his absence. But the reports certainly do not look good for him right now.
It is a real shame considering that he appeared to turn a corner last season. Rashford scored 30 goals in all competitions, including 17 in the Premier League.
He is not going to get close to that tally during this campaign, as things stand. And it will certainly not help if he is not even out on the pitch for United.
It would still be a brave call to let him go. Ultimately, ten Hag still looks to be struggling to win his doubters over. And thus, it could easily backfire if Rashford leaves and rediscovers his best form for another top club.
But ten Hag has not been afraid to make the big calls in the past. So if the owners do support the Dutchman, and he wants Rashford gone at any point, then perhaps the academy graduate could indeed end up leaving Old Trafford in the near future.
