Sheffield Wednesday fans react as they confirm deal for Elias Kachunga

Sheffield Wednesday confirmed the signing of attacker Elias Kachunga on Wednesday afternoon – and some of the club’s supporters were pleasantly surprised with the announcement.

The Owls confirmed on their that the 28-year-old has joined the club, although it’s unclear on what kind of length his deal is with them.

Kachunga was a free agent after leaving Championship side Huddersfield Town at the end of last season and he spent four years with them, the first season being on loan.

The versatile attacker scored three goals and supplied five assists for them in the league, but is now taking on a new task at Wednesday under manager Garry Monk.

He was mainly used as a winger during the 2019/20 campaign by Huddersfield, but he can play at striker and should add some strength in depth to the attacking line.

Despite the fact that he was unable to really make his impact when Huddersfield were in the Premier League, he did score 13 goals combined during his first season with them when they were in the Championship and has plenty of attacking flair.
