Sheffield Wednesday fans impressed by Kiko Casilla display for Leeds United

Leeds United and Sheffield Wednesday played out a hard-fought draw in the Championship yesterday at Hillsborough.

Neither team could find the back of the net in a game where both goalkeepers came away with all the plaudits.

Keiren Westwood’s save from Patrick Bamford will be hard to top in the Championship all season but Leeds United’s stopper also had a big impact on proceedings.

Kiko Casilla made several crucial interventions, including a stunning save from Steven Fletcher’s half-volley in the first-half.

It was a performance that did not go unnoticed by plenty of the opposing fanbase. Several Sheffield Wednesday fans took to Twitter to highlight the former Spain international’s contribution to Leeds coming away with a 0-0 draw from this game.

Casilla has been in good form for Leeds United recently and it will certainly be welcomed by the club’s fans.

The former Real Madrid man received plenty of stick for his fault in the play-off semi-final defeat to Derby County last season and it has been a long road back toward rebuilding trust among the Elland Road fanbase.

Leeds fans will hope he continues to frustrate opponents throughout the rest of the campaign.
