Sheffield United fans react as Blades are linked with Sheffield Wednesday’s Fernando Forestieri
Sheffield United have been linked with a shock raid on local rivals Sheffield Wednesday. , Fernando Forestieri is on Chris Wilder’s summer wishlist.
Forestieri has been with Sheffield Wednesday since summer 2015. He moved to Hillsborough from Watford four years ago and has since played over 100 games.
He has scored six goals this season in 27 games, taking his total tally to 38 goals for Sheffield Wednesday. But he could move on this summer.
Sheffield Wednesday will demand £14m for Forestieri. But Chris Wilder is said to be a big fan of Forestieri. And he could sanction a move for the Argentina-born player.
The Blades are looking for reinforcements after winning promotion to the top-flight. Forestieri would be a useful attacking player who can play behind the striker or as a centre-forward.
He contributes goals and excites fans with his creativity. But there are question marks surrounding his attitude and he would be an expensive buy.
