Shearer identifies two Tottenham players he feels Antonio Conte has improved
that he thinks Antonio Conte has improved two Tottenham players since joining the club. He raved about Conte’s start, identifying Oliver Skipp and Lucas Moura as beneficiaries.
Spurs have not picked up 14 points from a possible 18 in the Premier League since Conte took charge. Spurs still sit in fifth place, six points behind North London rivals Arsenal – but they do have three games in charge.
On Sunday, Spurs clocked up another three points – beating Crystal Palace to win 3-0 in North London. Gaining revenge on Patrick Vieira’s side, Spurs cruised to victory thanks to goals from Lucas Moura, Harry Kane and Son.
Speaking on MOTD in his analysis of Tottenham, Premier League legend Shearer thinks there are two Tottenham players that Conte has massively improved. The Italian identified Skipp and Lucas as two major improvements.

“He’s certainly got them very well organised. He’s made a big difference to Lucas Moura, and also Oliver Skipp – who I thought was excellent. Palace could not handle Lucas. Skipp was excellent, starting lots of good moves.”
Shearer on Skipp and Lucas: Tottenham duo are certainly getting better
Skipp was impressive under Nuno, but it looks as if his importance to the side is growing with Conte in charge. He, and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, are now the heartbeat of a Tottenham side shining under the ex-Chelsea boss.
Lucas, meanwhile, has been given the confidence to form the third part of a front three that also includes Kane and Son. While he remains the most flexible of the trio, Lucas now has 10 goal involvements in 22 appearances.
