Shay Given says Newcastle may have just done something which will have ‘frustrated’ the fans
Newcastle United have endured a tricky start to this summer’s transfer window with financial regulations seriously worrying the Magpies.
Eddie Howe‘s side were one of the Premi🍰er League clubs who really found themselves scrambling towaಞrds the final days of June.
Last season, the likes of Everton and Nottingham Forest found themselves on the receiving ꩲe🃏nd of points deductions due to their failure to balance their books.
Newcastle were desperat꧒e not to suffer the same kind of punishment for the upcoming season which led them to act decisively over the final days of last month.
As the summer transfer window rumbles on, former goalkeeper Shay Given has admitted the club have done something which will not have gone doꦫwn 💖well with the fans.

Shay Given shares warning to Newcastle owners
Although it has been a summer transfer window that has seen Newcastle forced into offloading pla🉐yers,🦄 they are now out of the woods with PSR.
The Magpies will no✤w be able to put a bigger focus on actually spending some money this summer and improving their squad.
Newcastle have recently waved goodbye to Dan Ashworth but have secured the services of Paul Mitchell as his replacement.
Howeveಞr, it wa💝s one of those player sales over last weekend which Given has admitted may not have been the most popular of moves.
Speaking to , Given has suggested Newcastle fans will have been left frustrated by the sale of Elliot Anderson to Nottingham Forest.
“I was probably more surprised at the Elli🅘ღot Anderson one,” he said.
“I was the💯re last pre-season with him in America and he was probably the star performer. I think he had his injury problems last season but I really think he’s going to have a big future.”
“I’m sure the🦄 fans are probably frustrated with that one more than the other [Yankuba Minteh] one because they want to see Elliot playing at Newcastle for the next 10 years but again, the way the rules are set up, you don’t really blame the club, ꩲthey have to generate the money. And of course, when someone comes through the system like that, it’s all profit.”
Newcastle forced into losing big talent in Elliot Anderson
It is apparent there were big hopes for Anderson at St James’ Park with Given admitting he 🎃expected the player to have a ‘big future’.
However, Anderson did struggle to nail down regular football under Howe with just 10 league starts to his name last 🉐season.
What would be interesting to ⛄know, though, is wheth▨er Newcastle would have considered the fee for Anderson had they not been pressed by PSR.
Althou🔯gh Anderson has been tipped for a big future, £35m is still aꦺ considerable fee for a player who failed to find the back of the net in 55 appearances for the first team.
