Joe Hart held aloft his first trophy as a Celtic player after joining the club in the summer, following Sunday’s 2-1 win over Hibernian. Both Declan Rice and Shay Given have applauded the goalkeeper on Instagram.
Hart, 34, has been excellent since swapping Tottenham for Celtic in the summer. Already clocking up 30 appearances for the Scottish giants – three times as much as he managed at Spurs – Hart now has first medal.
Celtic took on Hibernian, who sacked Jack Ross less than a fortnight ago. But it was Hibs who took the lead, Paul Hanlon scoring from a corner. But Kyogo Furuhashi instantly replied, delivering on the big stage.
Played through on goal, his first touch was immaculate, before finishing with his left. His second goal was even better, dinking a bouncing ball over Matt Macey – who stands at a lofty 6ft 7in.
Posting on Instagram, Hart underlined his utter delight at winning his first possible trophy. He spoke after the match, stating he had moved to Celtic to win titles and his Instagram post emphasises that.
Given and Rice react: Hart form deserving of a Celtic title, more to come?
In his 30 appearances since moving north of the border, Hart has conceded 29 goals – more than he would have liked. But what is impressive, is that he already has 14 clean sheets for the Bhoys.
A brilliant run of form since swapping London for Glasgow. Hart is slowly getting back to his best, not just domestically, but in Europe too. Rice, his ex-West Ham teammate, and Given, an ex-Man City teammate, responded.
