Report: Tottenham’s ‘phenomenal’ player wanted by La Liga outfit after Conte snub, but there’s a problem

Tottenham defender Sergio Reguilon was left out of the pre-season tour of South Korea by Antonio Conte and could be on his way back to Sevilla.

The Spanish defender was one of the surprise omissions from the Spurs squad picked by Conte. It was the clearest indication yet from the Italian manager that he will enforce change on this Spurs side as he seeks to bring success to the North London outfit.

And according to Spanish outlet , Reguilon’s former club Sevilla would be more than interested in taking the Spanish left-back back to La Liga. However, as with most transfer deals, there are a number of obstacles for the Spanish side to overcome.

claims that Sevilla would be interested in Reguilon, but only if he forgets about the £4m-a-year he earns with Spurs. Further, it’s suggested the La Liga outfit would only want Reguilon signed as long as they didn’t have an obligation to purchase him at the end.

Despite being labelled a ‘phenomenal‘ player during his time early on at Spurs, Reguilon fell from favour towards the back end of last season. And now being left out of the Korea tour, it would appear the end is nigh for the full-back.

TBR’s View: Reguilon First Victim Of Conte’s Revolution

Well, we say first. He might not be the very first but he is certainly the most high-profile name to get the treatment from the Italian manager.

For Reguilon to be snubbed like this is a massive blow for the left-back and he’ll surely be looking at ways he can get himself out of the club now. He’ll want to play, and Conte’s addition of Ivan Perisic as well as his admiration for Ryan Sessegnon seems to be the final nail for ‘Reggy’.
