‘Set for medical tests’… 20-year-old is now right on the verge of leaving Tottenham on loan
Tottenham Hotspur forward Alejo Veliz is reportedly edging closer to a loan move away from Spurs on transfer deadline day.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Tottenham summer signing is set to undergo his medical at Sevilla ahead of a temporary switch.
The transfer insider also stressed that Veliz‘s move to the La Liga side is a straight loan with no option or obligation to buy.
Alejo Veliz, in Sevilla right now set for medical tests,” Romano wrote on : “Key step after recent injury for Argentinian striker.
“If all goes to plan, Sevilla will proceed with loan move with NO option to buy clause included. Back to Spurs in June in any case.”
Spurs talent Alejo Veliz set for Sevilla loan move on transfer deadline day
Veliz had been a regular off the bench for Ange Postecoglou’s side in the first half of the season, but suffered a knee injury on New Year’s Eve.
The 20-year-old came on in the 82nd minute of the Premier League meeting with Bournemouth but had to make way in stoppage time.
Veliz has stepped up his recovery in recent days. Earlier this week, reported how the player uploaded footage of himself back in training on his Instagram stories.

Veliz could be seen doing some runs and appeared to be moving with ease. He captioned the story “let’s go again” and added flexed bicep, crossed fingers and praying emojis.
Postecoglou is certainly a fan of Veliz, previously : “With young Veliz, he’s one we identified and he’s got a lot of talent for a youngster.
“He’s got a great profile. He is a big guy but he’s very mobile and he works hard. He’s already made an impact in the Argentine first division and again good to have him in.”
This loan makes sense, as he’s likelier to get first-team football over the course of the season and Spurs can keep tabs on how he plays and continues to develop.
