Serge Aurier reacts to stunning moment of skill from Tottenham star Tanguy Ndombele against Rennes
Tanguy Ndombele finally played for Tottenham on Thursday – and Serge Aurier has praised the Frenchman for a moment of genius in the second 45.
Ndombele was yet to feature competitively under new manager Nuno Espirito Santo, until being named in the starting line-up to face Rennes.
In the first of their six Europa Conference League group games, Ndombele started in midfield alongside Bryan Gil and Oliver Skipp.
He made a difference, even coming close to scoring against Rennes – after a neat one-two with Harry Kane. But Spurs ended up drawing the match 2-2.
Despite taking the lead through a Loic Bade own goal, Rennes came roaring back and were leading 2-1 after 70 minutes. Flavien Tait got the first.
Then, Gaetan Laborde notched a second on 72. However, a Matt Doherty cross found Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg who finished superbly after 76 minutes.
Ndombele was taken off just after Spurs had made it 2-2, and plenty applauded the France international for his efforts in his first outing.

But it was a moment of skill in the second half that caught the eye of Aurier. The Ivory Coast captain was watching on, as his old side drew in France.
Aurier was released by Tottenham in the final minutes of deadline day, having failed to find a new club. He remains a free agent at this moment.
Ndombele took on numerous players down by the left corner flag, and Aurier reacted on his Instagram story – in hilarious manner:
“Put on the music and let Werrason (Congolese musician) dance. That is all,” Aurier said, as Ndombele dances in and out of Rennes defenders.
