Serge Aurier posts one-word reaction to Spurs’ first-half display

Serge Aurier probably summed up how a lot of Tottenham fans were feeling at half-time of the North London derby as he posted a one-word reaction on his Instagram story.

What’s the story?

Nuno Espirito Santo’s men were absolutely blown away during the first-half of the derby.

Arsenal raced into a 3-0 lead. Emile Smith Rowe, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Bukayo Saka all got on the scoresheet for the Gunners.

Obviously, it is incredibly difficult to predict how such an important game will play out. Form can easily go out of the window.

But Tottenham have now suffered three successive defeats in the Premier League. And they have all come by wide margins.

Of course, the losses to Crystal Palace and Chelsea will not sting anywhere near as much as Sunday’s result.

And it seems that Aurier is just as stunned as the Tottenham supporters. The right-back – who left Spurs in the final hours of the summer transfer window – posted on his Instagram during the derby…

Where do Tottenham go from here as Aurier expresses his disbelief?

Nuno was never a universally popular appointment at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the summer. Obviously, his arrival came after a turbulent search for Jose Mourinho’s permanent successor.

He got off to a brilliant start. Spurs led the way in the Premier League before the international break.

But he will now be facing questions regarding whether he is indeed the right man to lead Tottenham forward.

In truth, Sunday’s result could leave him with a mountain to climb.
