‘Sensational’: Paul Scholes says there’s one Liverpool player he absolutely loves watching

Paul Scholes has admitted he loves watching Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara in action.

The Manchester United legend was speaking on after Jurgen Klopp’s Reds hammered the Red Devils on Tuesday night.

Thiago delivered arguably his finest performance for Liverpool, pulling the strings against Ralf Rangnick’s side.

As per LFC Stats’ tweet, the £25million man clocked up some incredible stats in his side’s 4-0 win.

The gave Thiago a perfect 10 in their post-match ratings article.

“Seemed to be on a different level to everyone else in terms of his passing,” they wrote.

“And United couldn’t handle his speed of thought or tenacity. Faultless.”

As testament to his quality, Thiago came off to a standing ovation from the Anfield faithful in the 80th minute.

But while it was a great evening for Liverpool, it was the stuff of nightmares for everyone linked with United.

The United-supporting pundits on the sports channels really felt the pain.

Scholes even admitted he’d “prefer” to talk about how good Klopp’s charges are.

“I’ve probably lost a little bit of anger towards it now,” he said on Optus Sport. “I feel saddened really.

“They lack belief. They lack a way of playing. I think I’d prefer to talk about Liverpool.

“They’ve been sensational, an absolute masterclass on how to control a game of football. I love watching Thiago.

“I said I’m saddened by United, I’d like to see them give a little bit of effort.

“It looks like the last place in the world they want to be. They want the season to be over. They want to move on.”

Up next for Liverpool is Everton at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
