‘Sell up now’ – Sheffield Wednesday fans react to EFL and club statement
Sheffield Wednesday appear to have won their first battle with the EFL, with the league dropping all charges against Dejphon Chansiri and two others at the club.
The Owls have been facing uncertainty all season. An investigation into both the club and the owner – both separate cases – have rocked the club all year.
However, last night to confirm the EFL had dropped all charges against Owls owner Chansiri, as well as Katrien Meire and John Redgate.
The case is a complex one, in all honesty. The club could still face a points deduction or fine when all is said and done.
But this win for Chansiri and the Owls represents a positive step for the club. It is, on the surface, one less thing for them to worry about once the season gets back underway.
It may also indicate the club holds a solid legal grounding for their upcoming battle as a club. Although, this remains to be seen in terms of how it will play out.
, though, was awash with delighted Wednesday fans. Plenty of Owls took time out to have their say on the matter.
And there was a mixed response. It seems despite this, some Wednesday fans still aren’t overly happy with Mr Chansiri.

A timely boost but not over yet – TBR View
This is good news for the Owls in what has been a stinker of a season in the main so far.
But it’s not over for the club. They could very well find themselves in big trouble once again. Furthermore, it might even make the EFL even more determined to get one over on them when it comes to the club investigation.
These are still worrying times for Owls fans. Yes, this is good for Dejphon Chansiri but there is a long way to go yet.
