‘See you in July, pal’: Some Celtic fans react to announcement on talented 20-year-old
A number of Celtic fans have given their thoughts on the announcement regarding David Turnbull’s contract extension with Motherwell.
The 20-year-old was set for a £3million switch to Celtic Park last summer and looked to be bound for the treble treble winners until an injury was uncovered in August.
“He’s a player we’ve admired for a while,” Lennon told in June when the move looked like going ahead.

“He had a great breakthrough season. He’s an elegant player, technically he’s very good, proficient with both feet and he scored 15 goals in 30 games, which is quite a return for a midfielder.”
The move, however, was called off as the 20-year-old underwent months of rehabilitation following surgery but he is now being eased back into action, having made his comeback against St Mirren at Fir Park last month.
Turnbull played for 19 minutes as Motherwell fell to a 2-1 defeat and, after being an unused substitute against Ross County, he played another 17 minutes off the bench in the draw with Hearts last time out.

The player has now repaid Well for their support in his rehabilitation by agreeing a one-year extension that ties him to the club until the summer of 2022.
“As soon as I knew I was back, fit and ready to get some game time, I wanted to make sure my contract was sorted,” Turnbull told the club .
“I have been here a long time. I feel as if I owe the club and the supporters for the way I have been looked after and treated.”
Plenty of Celtic fans still believe their club will sign Turnbull but at the same time praised the fact he gave Motherwell “a little more protection” as thanks for how they’ve looked after him:
We will sign him, but he’s done a good thing to make sure Motherwell get a decent fee.

Just means we will have to pay more but I think he’s still worth it ?

Also if we do sign him then gives them plenty of money to produce the next David Trumbull/Tom Boyd!!!! Happy to see Celtics money stay in Scotland if talent is good enough

Glad that either he stays or helps make sure Motherwell get a good fee if he goes. Still like him in the hoops though ?
