‘Second coming of Roberto Carlos’: Everton fans wowed by Jonjoe Kenny display against Leeds
Everton fans have been raving about Toffees defender Jonjoe Kenny’s display against Leeds on Saturday.
The 24-year-old has barely featured for Everton this season, with just four Premier League appearances and eight in all competitions.
On Saturday, Everton boss Frank Lampard named Kenny – a right-back by trade – at left-back in wake of Vitaliy Mykolenko’s absence.

And the Blues academy graduate delivered a superb display, getting the better of Whites winger Raphinha time and time again.
Kenny helped open the scoring for Everton and even pulled off a couple of Cruyff turns during the game.
As per , he made two key passes, tried his luck with one effort and completed two dribbles.
In terms of defensive contributions, Kenny made two tackles, three interceptions and one clearance.
Here is what some Everton fans made of Kenny’s display against Marcelo Bielsa’s side:

Whisper it, but I think JonJoe Kenny might be worth a new contract. Would make a useful squad player, especially given that he has added some versatility to his bow.

Van De Beek – Class above all our midfielders
Alex Iwobi – Kinell who’s put 10p in him?
Seamus Coleman opened the scoring in the 10th minute, nodding home from point-blank range.
Michael Keane doubled Everton’s lead with a thumping 23rd-minute header from Anthony Gordon’s pinpoint corner.
And 12 minutes from time, Richarlison fired from just outside the box, an effort which went in via a deflection off Gordon.
The result sees Everton go five points clear of the Premier League relegation zone.
Lampard’s charges move to within a point of 15th-placed Leeds after keeping a first clean sheet in 13 matches.
