‘Season over’: Sky Sports pundit thinks Liverpool man won’t play again this term
Liverpool goalkeeper Adrian will be lucky to play again for Liverpool this season following his error in the FA Cup loss to Chelsea, according to pundit Rob Green.
The Reds stopper was one of numerous changes for Jurgen Klopp’s side at Stamford Bridge and initially did well to keep out a Willian effort.
However, after Fabinho gave the ball away on the edge of the box, the Chelsea man had another effort on goal, but this time, Adrian fluffed his lines, diverting the ball into his own net.

The goal proved the difference between the two sides at half time and the Reds conceded again through Ross Barkley to end up falling to a 2-0 defeat.
Retired England goalkeeper Green, speaking on show The Debate, thinks Adrian will not be called upon by Klopp for the rest of the season.
“He’s been brilliant when’s come in. He’s made a mistake tonight,” said Green.
“When you lose in a defeat that’s one or two goals, and it is that goal which sets the ball rolling, it makes it worse.
“That’s season over, he’s going to have to sit and have a watching brief for the rest of the season. It’s a tough one to take.”
TBR View:
Even the best goalkeepers will made mistakes now and then – Liverpool first-choice Alisson Becker has made a few during his career, as has compatriot and rival Ederson.
Going back further, the likes of Pepe Reina, Peter Schmeichel, David Seaman, Peter Shilton, Gordon Banks… all of them have made mistakes during their careers.
Admittedly, Liverpool’s domestic cup exits have left them battling on two fronts, the Premier League and the Champions League, both of which will see Alisson get the lion’s share of game time.
However, Adrian joined the Reds very much as a back-up to Alisson and has played his part in a superb season, so if injury or suspension were to rule the Brazilian out, Adrian has proven a capable deputy and will do so again.
