Schalke sporting director happy with Jonjoe Kenny fit

Jonjoe Kenny is certainly impressing at his new club Schalke. The England under-21 international was allowed to leave Everton on a loan deal this summer and headed to Germany. He joined the Gelsenkirchen side on a deal until the end of the season, where he will play under the guidance of former Huddersfield Town boss David Wagner.

Kenny has put in some solid performances for Schalke since his arrival and even scored his first goal in club football with a superb strike against Hertha Berlin at the weekend.

Now the Bundesliga club’s sporting director has made his happiness at Kenny’s presence very clear. Jochen Schneider spoke of Kenny’s early form with delight.

“We are happy that he is here. He fits very well with us.”

Of course, Schalke are right to be impressed with his excellent start to life at the club.

However, some Everton fans might be concerned that Schalke are getting a little too attached.

Kenny is only on loan at the Veltins Arena and with Seamus Coleman approaching his latter years and Djibril Sidibe only on loan, Everton might have big plans for the 22-year old going forward.

So whilst Schneider can revel in his good business for now, Everton will hopefully not have another Ademola Lookman situation on their hands.
