Saul Niguez says Arsenal have a truly ‘incredible’ player in their ranks

Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has been described by Atletico Madrid ace Saul Niguez as an “incredible” player who can become one of the best footballers in the world.

Saul and Partey were teammates at the Spanish club for five years before the Gunners brought the Ghana international to the Emirates Stafium last summer.

The 27-year-old arrived at Arsenal to much fanfare, but he’s had some injury and fitness issues this season, which means Gunners fans haven’t seen his full potential.

However, Saul believes there is a lot more to come from Partey and says he can develop into one of the best players in world football over the next few seasons.

“As a player he’s incredible,” he told . “If he manages to keep his consistency, he can be one of the best in the world.

“I have known him since we were 16 or 17 and I’ve always felt he was going to be a very important player, but what he has lacked is the consistency, because he’s capable of doing everything.

“He scores from out of the box, he makes ground, steals, distributes, runs the game himself.”

Partey might have had a bit of a difficult season, but he’s a player of the highest calibre who has shown glimpses of his quality this season, not to mention making a name for himself at Atleti.

He made a cameo off the bench in the draw against Fulham last time out and his display showed why Arsenal missed him from the start.

Hopefully he’ll stay fit for the remainder on the season, finish the campaign on a high and enjoy a consistent run of form next term.
