Sanchez Watt reveals he could be about to rejoin Arsenal, coaching role on the cards

Arsenal could be about to get a new addition to their backroom staff after Sanchez Watt took to social media to provide an update on his situation.

Watt, who still plays for Wealdstone in the non-league, broke through at Arsenal as a youngster back in 2009 but never really got going and spent numerous loan spells away from the club before signing for Colchester United in 2013.

The forward also enjoyed a close affiliation with Leeds United after spending time at Elland Road in the 2010/11 campaign. Watt is also a vocal backer of Arsenal on Twitter, commenting frequently on Gunners games.

And speaking on Boxing Day via his account, Watt revealed he could be about to return to the club in a coaching capacity after conversations with current youth chief, Per Mertersacker.

Watt returning to his home club will be a big step for the Wealdstone man, especially as it looks like being his first move into the coaching game.

In terms of impact on the current team, however, this won’t provide Arsenal fans with anything to excite them in the immediate.

Nice to see a player wanting to give back – TBR View

While this is in no way affecting the first-team, it’s nice to see a player wanting to offer his services back to a former club and also nice of Arsenal to entertain the idea.

Watt never really made it with the Gunners so if he can help some young players come through and achieve more than he did, then that would be a nice end to his story within the game.
