Sam Allardyce says he’s found something concerning after researching Liverpool’s stats
Liverpool are arguably the best team in all of Europe right now.
The Reds are sitting pretty 🍌at the top of the Premier League, and they’re also leading the way in the Champions League.
Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
1 | 11 | 9 | 1 | 1 | 21 | 6 | 15 | 28 |
However, there is sti📖ll this feeling that Liverpool’s form isn’t sustainable.
Glenn Hoddle thinks Liverpool 🍌are title f𝔍avourites now, but other pundits stil🉐l think Arsenal will ♐come out on top.
Speaking on the No Tippy Tappy Football Podcast, Sam Allardyce has been discussing Liverpool’s performances this season, and he says that after having an in-depth 😼look at Liverpool’s stats, they’re not all that good.

Liverpool’s stats aren’t great
Allardyce🌳 spoke about Liverpool and his research into their stats.
The former Englan🌜d manager s♑ays that Liverpool’s stats aren’t that great, but the Reds keep winning.
“I listen♈ to TalkSPORT a lot, ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚobviously, and I heard a few Liverpool fans saying it’s not the same,” Allardyce said.
“And they’re going, ‘we’re not the up-and-at-them team that we were with Jürgen Klopp, like you mean,’ and I’m going, excuse me, we should have got beat today. We were very lucky that we won. And there’💎s a few Liverpool fans coming on and saying, it’s not the football that Jürgen Klopp gave us, like you mean.
So I had a look at the stats. They’re not that great. But they’re still winning. So that’🐭s a sign of a good team.
“So what he’s doing is this, he’s doing, how would you protect your win? Or how wouꦐld you change to get your win, like you mean? So he’s sacrificing some of that over play, over attacking side to make sure he wins a football match.”
Sam Allardyce’s stats background
Sam Allardyce may be seen as something of an archaic manager these days, bu🐼t if there’s anyone you want to listen to when it comes to utli꧟ising and understanding statistics, it’s Big Sam.
Via , Allardyce was act🧸ua🤡lly one of the first Premier League managers to utilise statistics in their analysis.
Allardyce was an early adopter of Prozone technology during his time at Bolton, a technology that has since been adopted by almost every single professional club in En𝄹gland.
Stats can often be deceiving, and all that truly matters is that Liverpool are top of the league, but if Al🤡lardyce’s findings are correct, it may be tough for the Reds to sustain their dominance at the top of the table in the long-term.
Allardyce didn’t share exactly what stats he’d looked into, but if Allardyce isn’t impressed, there may be some cause for concern at Anf🎐ield.
