Sam Allardyce has his say on Steve Bruce and Newcastle United situation

Former Newcastle and England mꦬanager, Sam Allardyce, has become the latest to offer his thoughts on the situation surrounding Steve Bruce at St James’ Park.

B🎀ruce is being tipped to lose his job but he took charge of the Magpies yesterday as they lost 3-2 to Tottenham at home. Despite going🐟 ahead through Callum Wilson, Spurs fought back and spoiled the party in the northeast.

A number of names are being tipped to take 🍸over. Steven Gerrard is among those names, as is former Everton boss, Roberto Martinez.

And Allardyce, who lost his job after a year in Newcastle to be replaced by Kevin Keegan, feels th𓄧at Bruce is in a hard situation and will almost feel relieved if the time does come for him to go.

“You want the clarity but if they’re not willing to give it you, then you have to carry on as a professional,” Allardyce told .

“If the players think you’re going to go shortly, then the players aren’t going to give 100% for you. It’s not what they should do, but it happens. The board needs to make a decision, and make a decision either way.

“It’s easy to find out today who they’re trying to get. I had the same problem when I was there. I was just waiting for the axe to fall. When it actually happens, you’re almost relieved.”

Yesterday’s loss to🧜 Spurs highlighted so much of what has been wrong with the team in recent times. They got into a good position and failed to 🎐capitalise, before then becoming easy to play against.

Whoever replaces Bruce, then, will need to address those issues before they hope for any sort of🐬 success.

TBR’s View: Allardyce right about Newcastle players

It has been clear for months that some of this Newcastle squad are not overly sold on working under Bruce. Leaks to newspapers, journalists, and other snippets of behind the scenes info ha🦄ve shown this.

Allardyce makes a valid point here. The Toon players will be fullyꦇ aware that Bruce is likely to be on his way. And until it’s resolved, then results will no doubt continue to be poor.
