‘Sad to see’… Micah Richards upset after what happened to £34m Tottenham player on Sunday
Micah Richards has admitted it was ‘sad to see’ Tottenham Hotspur defender Micky van de Ven pick up another injury on Sunday.
The Dutchman was forced off in the 49th minute as Tottenham thrashed Aston Villa 4-0 away from home.
Van de Ven had put in yet another exceptional display up until that point as he stifled the threats of Leon Bailey and Ollie Watkins.

Of course, the 22-year-old was sidelined for a couple of months with a hamstring injury earlier this season and returned to action in January.
Ange Postecoglou has played down suggestions the injury could be significant, claiming Van de Ven feels it isn’t anything too serious.
And Micah Richards has admitted he was gutted to see the centre-back suffer what could be another setback.
Richards upset after Van de Ven injury
Speaking on , Richards discussed Van de Ven’s latest injury setback.
“It was sad to see Van de Ven go off the pitch though,” he said. “I mean, when you talk about tactics and how they want to play, we’ve given Ange Postecoglou so much credit haven’t we?
“They play so high, it was Danny Murphy who was doing Match of the Day yesterday and he did a really good piece on how brave the centre-backs were and what was good, they push really high up and go man for man at the back against Bailey and Watkins.
“But that leads into a race constantly, so Villa tried to get the ball quickly forward and Van de Ven’s constantly having to sprint back. He’s got big numbers, one of the fastest players in the Premier League, but then now he’s going to be out if he’s tweaked his hamstring again.
“So, they play great football, front-footed football, entertaining stuff we all want to see. But for the centre-halves, it’s hard work.”

Tottenham will undoubtedly be sweating over Van de Ven’s fitness ahead of the business end of the season.
Losing the defender would be a cruel blow for Postecoglou as he bids to deliver a top-four finish in his debut campaign.
But Radu Dragusin put in a solid display after replacing the Dutchman and he will be eager to impress after his January switch from Genoa.
