Ryan Sessegnon forced to pull-out of England U21 squad with injury
Ryan Sessegnon’s time at Tottenham hasn’t been perfect.
Having signed from Fulham for £25m in 2019 (), Sessegnon has managed just 14 appearances for the club’s senior side.
In that time he has managed a single goal and a single assist ().
Unfortunately, Sessegnon has had yet another set-back as he has been forced to pull out of the England U21 squad with a knock that he picked up in training ().
That means he’s missed out on the chance to feature against Kosovo on Tuesday as he’s set to return to Tottenham.
This isn’t the former Fulham man’s first injury problem either.
A hamstring problem saw him get off to a rocky start at the beginning of his Tottenham days, and he also missed seven games while out on-loan at Hoffenheim last season ().

Sessegnon, though, isn’t one to be slept on at all.
Despite his injury issues, his time at Fulham had many clubs fawning over him.
From a combination of left-back and left-wing the 21-year-old managed 25 goals and 18 assists in 120 games for the Cottagers ().
He’s yet to show that sort of form at Tottenham, yet Nuno Espirito Santo has made it clear that Sessegnon is part of his plans this season ().
At left-back, he faces competition from Sergio Reguilon and Ben Davies while, as a left-sided winger, he is up against Steven Bergwijn and Heung-Min Son, so it will be hard for him to make either role his own.
However, with Spurs competing in four competitions this season, there will certainly be chances for the youngster.
It’s just a matter of regaining his fitness and showing his manager what he can do in training.
