Ryan Sessegnon and other Tottenham players react as teenager confirms exit with touching Instagram post

With Cirkin struggling to get game time, his chances of making his debut at Spurs was only set to reduce this season. Nuno Espirito Santo has welcomed back Sessegnon after a loan spell in Germany with Hoffenheim. He joins Sergio Reguilon and Ben Davies as options on the left side of the defence.

Three first-teamers vying for one place in the side means Cirkin’s chances were small – even in the Conference League. So, signing for Sunderland is a move that suits all parties. Sessegnon wished him well, as did the likes of Troy Parrott and Alfie Devine. Harvey White told Cirkin he will be missed.
