Ryan Mason, Declan Rice and Everton star react as Kieran Trippier leaves Tottenham
Kieran Trippier has posted a heartfelt message to Tottenham supporters on Instagram after leaving the north London club to join Atletico Madrid – to which Ryan Mason, West Ham United man Declan Rice and Everton star Fabian Delph have reacted.
28-year-old Trippier has moved in a deal worth £20million. The former Burnley star has signed a three-year deal with Diego Simeone’s side, after 114 appearances in all competitions for Spurs.
Trippier endured a difficult 2018-19 campaign at Spurs, failing to reach his previous best after shining for England at the World Cup in Russia. Without a proper pre-season, Trippier was always playing catch-up.
Trippier posted on Instagram after a move was confirmed to Atletico, sending a heartfelt message to Spurs fans for their support over the last four years. Mason and Delph replied, wishing the defender their best.

Now, Trippier has the chance to recharge the batteries and impress in Spain’s La Liga with Atleti and Simeone – in what has been a major summer of change for the Spanish side this summer.
Antoine Griezmann, Rodri and Diego Godin have both left, joining Barcelona, Manchester City and Inter Milan. They have brought in Joao Felix for £113million, as well as Marcos Llorente, Renan Lodi and now Trippier.
The defender could be part of Atleti’s new revolution under Simeone, with the Spanish side expected to bring in more players.
