‘Out of the squad for tomorrow’: Giovanni Van Bronckhorst confirms Rangers fan favourite will miss Hibs game

Ryan Jack is unavailable to face Hibs on Wednesday night as confirmed by Giovanni Van Bronckhorst.
Speaking to the press in his pre-match press conference GVB
“Ryan Jack is out after a problem with his ankle, he will be out of the squad for tomorrow. I don’t think it is serious, he got a knock during the game. It is not a serious injury.”
Latest injury
Jack sustained a shocking tackle from the back from Hearts midfielder Beni Baningime, which referee Willie Collum somehow failed to see, despite standing yards away.
Fans had been left worried since Sunday, hoping it would not be another setback for the combative midfielder.
Ryan Jack took to social media yesterday to address the matter, posting an image to his Instagram account of the challenge, with a hint of sarcasm directed at Collum.
Jack had just returned from long-term injury
Jack has just returned from a long-term injury and has already proven the difference he makes to the side when available. He came on at HT against Celtic, albeit the game was over, but he steadied the ship and brought a calmness to the side.
He then put in a good display against Hearts and had looked to be back in the fold for the title run in.
Fans had previously questioned if Jack had a future at Rangers, not because of his ability, which everyone knows he has, but because of his persistent injuries.
It now looks foolish to have doubted a man who has proven several times over that he is a strong character and has the undoubted mentality to be a vital Rangers player, some fans have expressed their preferences to have Jack as captain.
Barry Ferguson had his say on Jack, speaking to Go Radio he
“He makes such a difference anchoring in the middle of the pitch. He’s always available to receive the ball, he’s always organising.
“He’s been a massive miss. The thing Rangers need to do now is wrap Ryan Jack in cotton wool.
“He’s obviously had injury issues and Rangers need to make sure that they ease him along and make sure that every time they have a game that he’s available because he’s such an important player.”
Fans hope for a speedy return
Fans will be hoping for a speedy return and may find some comfort that the manager has said it is not a serious injury. He is a vital part of Rangers spine and is arguably the best holding midfielder for the 4231 formation GVB has deployed recently.
Jack’s ability to control the middle of the park, allows Rangers to move the ball forward at a higher tempo. He also has the ability to sit and allow other players around to carry the attacking threat.
Rangers fans will be hoping Ryan can return from this latest setback as soon as possible and remain available for the remainder of the season as Rangers are a better side when he is in the team.
