Ryan Gravenberch wowed by ‘crazy’ Liverpool player who made 52 passes vs AC Milan

Liverpool got back to winning ways last night as they breezed past AC Milan at the San Siro in the opening game of their Champions League campaign.

Arne Slot set his Liverpool side up perfectly to tackle AC Milan’s threats, but it wasn’t without a scare as the Italian side went 1-0 up early on.

It was a goal each from Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk that turned things back in the Reds’ favour, with Dominik Szoboszlai rounding things off in the second-half.

Interestingly, Jamie Carragher believed that Ryan Gravenberch was one of the stars of the show, stating that he’s a completely different player now under Arne Slot.

The Dutchman scooped up the Man of the Match award for his efforts on the night.

However, he chose to praise one of his fellow Liverpool teammates on Instagram after the game.

Ryan Gravenberch impressed by ‘crazy’ Liverpool teammate vs AC Milan

Ryan Gravenberch is making a bit of a name for himself this season at Liverpool after failing to pull up trees in the last campaign.

Arne Slot has even spoken about how impressed he is with Gravenberch in recent weeks.

However, the midfielder commented on after the game and called his performance against AC Milan ‘crazy’.

Not only is Gravenberch turning into a brilliant player on the field, but he also has the heart to go out and publicly praise his teammates off the field after the game.

Ibrahima Konate’s stats vs AC Milan

Ibrahima Konate grabbed the first goal for Liverpool which got them back on level terms.

The Frenchman’s stats make it easy to see why Gravenberch praised him. He made six clearances, blocked one shot, made one tackle, won five duels, was fouled twice, had 70 touches, and made 52 passes, for a passing accuracy of 93% (as per ).

Virgil van Dijk and Konate have really nailed down the centre-back partnership since Jarell Quansah was taken out against Ipswich, and it doesn’t look like changing anytime soon.

One surprising fact about Konate is the fact that it was his first goal in two and a half years.
