Ryan Christie labels Celtic team-mate Odsonne Edouard ‘scary’

Celtic midfielder Ryan Christie has been discussing his nominees for player of the year at Parkhead this season. The Scotland international was , as he also revealed his choice for Celtic’s young player of the season and goal of the season.

With the Scottish football season currently under threat of cancellation due to the global health crisis, this might end up being as good a time as any to nominate Celtic’s best player of the campaign.

For Christie, it appeared a no-brainer to go with Odsonne Edouard. He expressed his awe at the performances of the Frenchman, admitting it is scary to remember just how young the Celtic striker is.

“From the start of the season Odsonne has been phenomenal. I’m lucky to play behind him or close to him and he’s such a good player. People see his goals and performances during games and he’s been unbelievable. But training with him every day, some of the stuff that he comes out with is ridiculous.

“He would be my pick for his consistency and the big moments he has produced. The scary thing about Odsonne is that he’s still only 22. There is so much potential to unlock yet. He will just keep getting better and better.”

Undoubtedly, Edouard has been one of Celtic’s best players this season. The 22-year-old has scored 27 goals and provided 19 assists for Neil Lennon’s side this season.

Unfortunately for Christie and Celtic, such form has not gone unnoticed. Edouard is being linked with a move away from Glasgow in the next transfer window. Arsenal, Leicester City and Everton are all keen on luring the £30 million-rated striker to the Premier League in the next transfer window.

Christie and all Celtic fans will be hoping that ‘scary’ Edouard continues to do his progressing at Celtic in the foreseeable future.
