Ruud van Nistelrooy did something Man United fans may have missed in 3-0 farewell win over Leicester City

After securing a 3-0 win over Leicester City in his final game in charge of Manchester United, Ruud van Nistelrooy made it three wins from his four matches at the helm.

Van Nistelrooy was never envisioned as a long-term option for United🐬, who have of course opted for Ruben Amorim, but the Dutchman can certainly hold his head up high.

💖The United legend replaced his compatriot Erik ten Hag with so much enthusiasm and joy on the touchline – he really did enjoy every moment.

👍And given that Chelsea were the only side to stop Van Nistelrooy’s team from taking three points, it’s pretty good going.

Ruud van Nistelrooy did something Erik ten Hag often failed to do at Old Trafford

🐷That being said, during the win over Leicester at Old Trafford, Van Nistelrooy may have made a point to Amorim and United’s squad.

At 2-0 up, Van Nistelrooy decided to substitute both Marcus Rashford and Diogo Dalot𝓰 in the 57th minute, with Alejandro Garnacho and Jonny Evans coming on.

Then, in the 75th minute, Rasmus Hojlund left the pitch in favour of Joshua Zirkzee.

🌺All of Rashford, Dalot and Hojlund failed to impress against Leicester despite the win, they were pretty poor, and Van Nistelrooy decided to hook all three.

♚Perhaps United have been missing such strong man management of late – and Van Nistelrooy has never been one to shy away from decisions as a player or boss.

💦Under Amorim, United need to create a new culture at Old Trafford, and fans will surely be hoping that these high standards are continued.

Alejandro Garnacho appeared to make a statement after Leicester goal

꧂As mentioned, Garnacho came on to replace Rashford and did grab his goal to seal the win in the 82nd minute.

💫The 20-year-old has been on the receiving end of a lot of criticism this season and appeared to respond by not fully celebrating his stunning strike – one that deserved several back flips.

𒉰However, Garnacho simply made his way back towards his starting position after almost pulling out of his celebration, perhaps a sign of where his head is at right now.

ꦚUnited fans need to stick with the young talent, who still has so much to learn, and perhaps he could be one of the big success stories under Amorim.
