‘Runs all day’: Newcastle fans excited with report they will be offered Diego Laxalt
Newcastle United could reportedly be offered the chance to sign AC Milan flyer Diego Laxalt – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter believe he would be a dream addition.
, the Magpies are set to be chasing a new left-back in the summer and the Serie A defender was wanted by Rafael Benitez in January.
It is understood that Newcastle will be offered the chance to bring Laxalt to St James’ Park, as he’s had a difficult first season with Milan.
Laxalt is a South American left-back most recognised for his lightning pace and his attacking qualities.
The 26-year-old announced himself last summer at the World Cup with some quality displays for quarter-finalists Uruguay and that earned him a move to the San Siro.
He’s made 28 appearances across all competitions for Milan, but struggled for regular minutes and is behind Ricardo Rodriguez in the pecking order.

Newcastle are waiting to hear about the future of Benitez beyond the season, but a selection of the club’s fans feel Laxalt will fit right into his team.
The Magpies have found great success with a back three supported by wing-backs this campaign, which is a system that would suit Milan’s attack-minded full-back.
Matt Ritchie has done an excellent job on the left flank this season, while Paul Dummett is another potential option.
Here are some Newcastle fans that are in favour of bringing in Laxalt:
This kid is the perfect player for Rafa wanting to play wing backs, Runs all day and is decent attacking.
