Roy Keane names the two Man United players who Erik ten Hag must stop picking

Manchester United’s draw against Aston Villa just before the international break seemingly did very little to secure Erik ten Hag’s future, a manager who is still under extreme scrutiny.

Man United won’t replace Ten Hag🤪 during the international break – that’s for certain at least.

Some of the higher-ups at Old Trafford do believe that it’s time to part ways with Ten Hagꦺ, however decision-makers didn’t come to an overall agreement to sack the Dutchman.

Ten Hag will get more time, and Man United﷽ will surely need to win at least three of their next four Premier League fixtures.

♕Right now, United are 14th with just eight points after seven games – a horrendous start especially when you consider the players the club signed in the summer.

𒐪United went big once again, but Ten Hag is yet to get the best of the likes of Joshua Zirkzee, Manuel Ugarte and Matthijs de Ligt.

Roy Keane can’t believe Erik ten Hag is still turning to Harry Maguire

Of course, when benching De Ligt on occasion – an unusual trait of Ten Hag when he signs a new player, Harry Maguire has often continued to start.

Speaking on the ‘Stick to Football’ podcast, Roy Keane🐽 was baffled by the decision, and he had no time for Jill Scott’s defence of the United centre-back.

🦋Keane said: “If you are going back to Harry Maguire you are in trouble.

♔Scott replied: “I think he always has the right attitude.”

ဣKeane: “Ah Jill! See the goal? Look at his defending for the equaliser against FC Twente. Just look at him for that goal. If you think he is the answer. You can’t keep going back to Maguire and Eriksen.

꧟“The last few years they have made lots of changes, they get rid of Fred and McTominay, they make changes. Centre halves. Now Maguire and Eriksen are back in the team the last few weeks.

ꦚ“You have gone back to the lads who are part of the problem! I’m not saying just on their own, of course not, but if you think Maguire is the answer!”

Christian Eriksen also under fire at Old Trafford

Of course, in addition to Maguire, 32-year-old Christian Eriksen꧋ has also seen an increase in minutes this season.

🅘Eriksen has made eight appearances so far this campaign playing 519 minutes.

♈And whilst the Dane is evidently still a classy player, Ten Hag’s use of the midfielder is perhaps the biggest indicator of how little progress is being made, if at all.

🍸United have spent a ton of money beefing up their squad, and yet they are still often turning to a player who is beyond his best years, someone Ten Hag often overlooks himself.

💞As mentioned, Ugarte is being introduced very slowly since arriving, which must be frustrating for the United fans.

💞Were the side flying right now with an incredibly sophisticated tactical system, it would make sense for Ugarte to watch on as adapted and learned the ways of Ten Hag.

🐲But that’s not the case by any estimation, and the frustrations at Old Trafford seemingly never end.
