Roy Keane decides which ground has a better atmosphere – Celtic Park or Ibrox

Roy Keane has now been comparing the atmosphere of both Celtic and Glasgow Rangers’ stadiums, Celtic Park and Ibrox.

Keane certainly hasn’t been scared to share a strong opinion or two in the past when discussing any side, let alone Celtic or Gers.

And given Rangers’ tough fought win over Neil Warnock’s Aberdeen last night, there’s currently very little to choose between the two sides in the league.

Todd Cantwell’s winner could prove a vital one given both Celtic and Rangers are now sat level on points after 24 games played.

Moreover, at 58 points a piece, the old rivals are also only separated by just one goal difference, in favour of Celtic.

It’s certainly going to be a fascinating race to follow, and the meeting between the two at Ibrox on the 6th April, the second to last game of the season, which could be a match for the ages.

All that being said, Roy Keane has now declared that he thinks Celtic Park still has a much better atmosphere.

Keane was speaking on the ‘’ podcast and was very firm in his opinion.

Roy Keane declares Celtic Park has a better atmosphere than Rangers’ Ibrox Stadium

Of course, the Irishman did only play for Celtic 10 times in competitive games after heading to Scotland in 2006.

And in truth, Keane did play through the pain barrier just to manage those appearances, let alone any more.

But when speaking on the podcast, he was in little doubt.

Keane was discussing the situation with Gary Neville and ended up disagreeing with his fellow pundit saying: “Celtic Park is a better atmosphere though.”

That being said, Keane was actually able to start in two Old Firm derbies in his limited games for Celtic.

Keane won away at Ibrox 1-0 and then drew with Rangers at Celtic Park in the reverse fixture.

So whilst Keane’s stint in Scotland was sadly cut short by his injuries, which led to his retirement, he was lucky enough to get the full Old Firm experience.

That being said, Barry Ferguson has now admitted his concerns regarding one Celtic player for the run-in.
