Romano tweets update on Leeds’ bid for ‘outstanding’ £20m Liverpool player

Fabrizio Romano has taken to Twitter to suggest that Crysencio Summerville has seen his move away from Leeds United collapse, thus likely ruling out a last-ditch deal for Takumi Minamino from Liverpool.

Summerville looked to be the player who held the key to Leeds making a deadline day signing. The Athletic reports that the Dutchman was wanted by certain clubs, with Hamburg seemingly leading the race.

Had he left, Leeds may have made a move to bring a player in before the deadline passed. And it appeared that Liverpool forward Minamino was on their radar.

It has previously been suggested that Leeds had registered an interest in the Japan international. However, the Reds value the former Red Bull Salzburg man at £20 million.

For some Leeds fans, loaning out Summerville and signing Minamino would be a smart piece of business. Summerville looks to have a bright future ahead. But the Liverpool man has proven himself a lot more in the Premier League.

Unfortunately for those Leeds supporters, it would appear that Marcelo Bielsa’s squad is looking set to remain the same beyond the deadline.

Romano has taken to Twitter to confirm that Summerville is staying put after a move to Hamburg collapsed. And with that, a move for Minamino looks set to be beyond Leeds…

Jurgen Klopp has previously described him as ‘‘. So Leeds fans will hope that missing out does not come back to haunt them.
