Tottenham sign Perisic

It had been reported that Perisic had agreed personal terms already, with the deal edging ever closer.

The deal shows that Conte wants established, experienced players who can come in and do the business for him now.

Conte is not messing around and wants to build a side geared up for immediate success, rather than spend years constructing a ‘project’.

The merits of that approach can be debated, but Spurs have a world-class manager and Champions League football next season.

They are in a position of strength which they need to push on and build from and Perisic is seemingly a huge part of that.

Conte knows what he wants and Spurs have seemingly delivered it nice and early in the window, with plenty more work still to be done.

Perisic played under the current Tottenham coach at the San Siro, winning the Serie A title last year.

The 33-year-old is a with his Inter contract expiring next month.
