Romano shares Spurs response after being offered Houssem Aouar; Arsenal also contacted

Fabrizio Romano has claimed on Twitter that Houssem Aouar has now been offered to both Spurs and Arsenal, with Tottenham already making a decision on the Frenchman.

Aouar has been linked with a Premier League move for much of the summer.

Lyon are open to selling the 23-year-old. And it was previously reported that the Ligue 1 side may consider a sale for less than their initial £25 million asking price.

And it seems that plans to move Aouar on have stepped up a notch in recent times.

Romano confirmed on social media that Aouar has been offered to both Spurs and the Gunners.

He added that Tottenham’s response was to reject the opportunity. They reportedly do not view the youngster as a priority target for the final days of the window.

Interestingly, Romano did not share Arsenal’s stance, but they have certainly received a boost if they are interested with Spurs seemingly stepping aside.

Spurs stance on Aouar hardly surprising amid Adama Traore links

It may disappoint some that Spurs have seemingly rejected the chance to sign Aouar after being contacted about a move.

He is clearly a huge talent, and he appears to be available at a very reasonable price.

But it is probably not a surprise that Tottenham have put their interest on the back-burner for the time-being.

Adama Traore looks to be top of their shopping list. Nuno Espirito Santo’s men have been heavily linked with the Wolves star. They have seen a loan bid rejected, recent reports claim.

And journalist Dean Jones suggested this week that he was told earlier in the summer that Nuno would sign Adama wherever he went.

Harry Kane is staying. So Spurs do not need to panic buy. And they probably do not need two more attacking players before the deadline passes.

Adama looks to be the priority. And with that, a move for Aouar is not currently on the cards.
