Romano shares big clause in Lazio’s move to re-sign West Ham outcast Anderson
that Felipe Anderson rejoining Lazio from West Ham is a completely ‘done deal’. The Brazilian is set to rejoin the Serie A side having fallen way down the pecking order at West Ham. The Italian journalist says a big clause has been included, which favours West Ham.
Anderson, 28, joined West Ham in the summer of 2018 from Lazio in what was a club-record fee at the time. The one-time Brazil international sparkled in his first season, but died off in the second campaign. He was loaned to Porto for 2020-21, but managed just 10 appearances.
Posting on Twitter, Romano has stated that a return to Lazio for Anderson is a “done deal” with both clubs in “total agreement”. The Italian journalist says that a 50% sell-on clause will be included, giving West Ham half of any potential future fee in which Anderson is sold for.
West Ham clearly just want Anderson off the wage bill
Prior reports have claimed that West Ham are ready to offload Anderson for nothing – just to get him out of the club. That is, even though he cost the best part of £40million. But clearly, West Ham want Anderson’s wages off the list and Lazio are keen to re-sign him. It makes sense.
But the Hammers have been clever enough to include a future fee. If Lazio sell Anderson for £10million in the future, then the Hammers will receive £5million. It is a sizeable clause.
