‘Travelling today’: Fabrizio Romano has some news for Tottenham fans about ‘fantastic’ international player
Tottenham appear closer than ever to seeing Joe Rodon move to Rennes, with Fabrizio Romano providing a Sunday update for supporters.
The Welsh international defender is expected to move to the French side in a deal which could be worth up to £17m for Spurs over time. Rodon has struggled to hold down a regular place in the squad under Antonio Conte, despite being branded a ‘‘ talent by his former manager Steve Cooper.

And after Antonio Conte confirmed in the last few days that Rodon is indeed in talks to leave, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed today that Rodon is on his way to France to finalise the move.
The former Swansea defender will be hoping to impress. Rennes are thought to be big fans of Rodon and it’s a real chance for the defender to get game time under his belt in a World Cup year.
TBR’s View: Rodon Has Big Chance In Rome To Get Going
Rodon hasn’t necessarily done anything wrong at Tottenham, it’s more a case that Conte has enjoyed success with other players and the Welshman hasn’t got many chances.
A move to Rennes is good for Joe Rodon. He’s moving to a manager he already knows and a league which will offer him a completely fresh start for his career.
