‘Improved their verbal bid’: Fabrizio Romano issues very latest update on Raphinha’s proposed Leeds exit
The saga surrounding Raphinha and his protracted exit from Leeds United continues, and Fabrizio Romano has a new update for us all.
Raphinha is expected to leave Elland Road and that was as good as confirmed today as Leeds left the Brazilian out of their squad for pre-season. It’s the biggest statement yet from the Yorkshire club that they are preparing for life without the tricky winger.

Of course, a host of teams including Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham and Barcelona are all keen on Raphinha. And according to it is Barcelona who have moved to improved their verbal bid for the Brazil star this weekend.
Reports in recent days have claimed that Barcelona have essentially been using other clubs and getting them to drop out of the race to aid their own bid for Raphinha. Whether that is the case, remains to be confirmed.
Romano’s update here though suggests Barcelona are very much keen on signing him. However, there remains concern about the Catalan club’s finances and if they can actually sort a deal out with Leeds.
The Raphinha saga, then, continues in earnest for now.
TBR’s View: Leeds Ready To Part Ways With Raphinha
Well, that’s probably that then for Raphinha in a Leeds shirt. Leeds fans have seen the last of the brilliant South American and there’ll be a feeling of disappointment around that.
However, Jesse Marsch has spent wisely this summer and there can be a good, positive feel about the club by the time kickoff rolls around in August.
Raphinha has been a joy to watch for Leeds and he’ll be fine wherever he moves. Hopefully, for English football anyway, he does indeed choose a Chelsea or an Arsenal in the end.
