Romano claims on Twitter Arsenal ‘leader’ is on verge of leaving
Fabrizio Romano has claimed on Twitter that Arsenal have reached an agreement with Udinese to loan the Italian side Pablo Mari for the rest of the season.
Mari’s departure from the Emirates has been . He has not featured in the Premier League for Mikel Arteta’s side since August.

He has also only been on the bench in the top-flight once since the end of September. Meanwhile, a host of clubs were eyeing a move for the Spaniard this month.
In fact, it was suggested that one of those who were keen on signing the 28-year-old was Unai Emery at Villarreal. However, it would appear that the former Gunners boss is set to miss out.

Romano has now confirmed on Twitter that Mari is set to join Udinese from Arsenal. An agreement for a loan deal has been reached between the two clubs. There is, however, no option to buy included in the move.

Arsenal will hope Pablo Mari can get career back on track with Udinese – ahead of potential summer sale
Arsenal would have surely anticipated few offers to sign Mari permanently this month. He looks to be well down the pecking order at the Emirates – despite Mikel Arteta previously labelling him a ‘‘. And with that, clubs may have had reservations about making a permanent bid for the centre-back.
A loan move with no option to buy looks to make a lot of sense. It gives Mari the chance to prove a point after what must have been a frustrating few months at the Emirates.
Arsenal meanwhile, have moved a high-earner off the wage bill for a few months. Presumably, the Serie A side will cover a significant portion of his salary.
Mari can now put himself in the shop window ahead of the summer. And Arsenal will hope that his form allows the Gunners to demand more at the end of the season.
