Roma rule out move for Moise Kean as Carlo Ancelotti calls controversial striker a ‘great talent’

AS Roma are not interested in the signature of Everton star Moise Kean, according to the club’s sporting director.

Gianluca Petrachi has confirmed that the Italian international has never been a serious target for the club despite their admiration of his talents.

It is something of a surprise to Everton fans, as the Giallorossi have long been linked with a summer move for the player.

Last month it was that the player’s agent Mino Raiola was hoping to negotiate a deal that would see the youngster head back to Italy initially on loan, with a buying option of £18-£20 million for next summer.

Kean’s debut season in England has been marred by difficulties both on and off the pitch. He recently found himself with hot water for breaking lockdown protocols to attend a party.

It has been widely suggested that he will head back to Italy this summer and Roma seemed the perfect fit. His best friend Niccolo Zaniolo plays for the club and the duo were hoping to be united at the Stadio Olimpico.

However, it looks increasingly likely that Kean will be sticking around at Everton. Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti has now that Kean is ‘a great talent’ and has ‘many qualities’.

“I think Moise Kean has so many qualities. He is a great talent and, as I said before, today’s football must surely be based on talent which must however be supported by great character, professionalism and personality. Now he is very young. He is a serious boy, available and will surely do well.”

With the transfer market set to be quiet this summer, Everton might be hoping to turn Kean’s career around at Goodison Park and see the best of a player who arrived at the club amidst much fanfare last summer.
