Rodrigo De Paul wants to leave Atletico Madrid, three months after rejecting Tottenham
Tottenham Hotspur were reportedly rejected by Rodrigo De Paul in the summer – now, the Argentine really wants to leave Atletico Madrid.
The 28-year-old joined Diego Simeone’s side from Udinese for £30 million last year (). He was viewed by many as a tremendous signing, but things just haven’t gone to plan for the midfield .

De Paul played 48 times for Atletico Madrid in all competitions last season. He was a regular in Diego Simeone’s midfield, but the two seem to have fallen out now.
claimed this week that there’s a rift between De Paul and Simeone at Atletico Madrid. The pair don’t see eye-to-eye anymore, and the midfielder seems to have had enough.
De Paul has started just five games in all competitions this season. He’s yet to start a game in the Champions League and the report claims that there’s little hope that the rift between the player and the manager will be resolved.
As a result, De Paul is looking for a way out in January, and Italian giants Juventus are reportedly keen. Atleti are also said to be evaluating letting him go – either on loan or on a permanent deal.
De Paul, 28, is a fine midfielder and he’d be an excellent signing for many top clubs in the world. If he’s available, there will surely be multiple clubs interested in his services in January.
De Paul rejected Spurs three months ago
Back in July this year, Tottenham were on the market looking for a new midfielder. De Paul, as he has been in the past, was linked with a move to North London again.

The report then claimed that the Argentine only wanted to stay at Atletico Madrid in the summer, but fast forward three months, his mind seems to have changed completely.
It will be interesting to see if Spurs will revive their interest in De Paul in January. He’s definitely a sensational player, and if he’s desperate to leave Atleti, Spurs could potentially get themselves a bargain in the winter window.
